A short trip away from
the ocean and through the desert, to....
New York? What??!?
Ohhh! It's the "little" one, in Las Vegas!
My suitcase lived for 3 days and nights on the top floor of that white tower with blue windows, right in the middle. I visited it occasionally.
Someone was teasing me and said this replica of the Statue of Liberty had a plaque with the following words: "Give me your dimes, your nickels; Your quarters burning holes in your pockets" ...so I obliged.
When you go to Las Vegas, take good walking shoes....a fashion statement of sorts (or out of sorts), but your feet will love you. Also, don't pass up some of the shows. This time I saw two I liked a LOT: "Forever Plaid" at the Flamingo Hilton, and Cirque du Soleil's "O" at the new Bellagio Hotel.
On the way back toward the ocean through the desert (which I still didn't like very much) I did find something in the sky I liked, and it was even more exciting trying to photograph it through the open window of a moving car...
