Memorial Park - Tributes to the settlers, and the amphitheater (page 4 of 4)

After leaving the twin towers in 2001, just 147 years into the history of Arcadia, there is still a long walk of 353 years (353 meters) to reach the year 2354.  We'll hope there's need for few war memorials but many picnic tables instead, to fill those still empty spaces along the 500 year walk.

At the end of the walk is another look back into Arcadia's history -- a tribute to the early settlers of the area.  These statues honor the character, values and hard work of the men and women who came here to farm the land and raise their families.

The walk leads finally to this beautiful 2500-seat amphitheater -- large enough to accommodate every man, woman, and child in Arcadia, with room left over for guests!

At the very back of the amphitheater are statues honoring America's military leaders, among them John Paul Jones, George S. Patton, and

Generals MacArthur, Eisenhower, and Pershing.

It seems fitting that they are positioned high atop that hill overlooking the park, watching over their troops.
